I am sure you have all heard about the La Conchita landslide. It has been a great tragedy to all of us that know people from there. They are still digging up people, which now are mostly dead. Some of you have met Charlie Womack (aka Papa Chonga and Charlie Llama). He has spun at many of the parties you have been too like Illuminatrix, Daves Mountain Parties, and Burning Man (part of Clan Destino). He was found last night, passed on to the other side. Charlie took care of many people, and helped out with everything as much as he could. He has always been the leader of our pack (La Conchita Llama tribe) and everyone is going to miss him. He has 4 children, one being a 15 year old girl. His house and belongings (including the belongings of everyone who lived with him too) are completely gone and distroyed. Since he was the provider for the people who lived with him, we need help paying for a funeral and memorial he deserves. So I set up a Memorial Fund to pay for all of this. There are a couple of other funds you will also see on the news too. In Charlies house there was also Jimmy's (aka Gador) wife, and three beautiful little little girls who have still not been found. We also have Kristina missing who is the mother of Chase our friend. I just found out our friend Dan's girlfriend Vanessa was found passed away. So since we have several funds set up this will all go to Charlie and anyone else in our close circle of friends that are found. You can call me if you need to (805) 259-8885, and my name is Jessica Lunsford

This is how you make a donation to "The Charlie Womack Memorial Fund"
-Go to Santa Barbara Bank in Trust (Call me for the bank near you) and tell them you want to make a deposit in the Charlie Womack Memorial Fund account #301010003673

-Send a check or money order with the check written out to "Charlie Womack Memorial Fund", to...
Santa Barbara Bank & Trust
250 South Mills Road
Ventura, CA 93003-3436

Thank you for all the help with this disaster

OK so there has been a bit of a change, because we lost all 7 of our friends. When you send a check it needs to be made out to the individual account for the family. There is a paypal account that is on its way as we currently speak I will send the link when it comes. But as far as the checks are concerned you dont even need the account number just write it out to one of these or all of these, whatever you can do.

Michelle Wallet and her three daughters Paloma, Hanna, and Raven were killed. They lived with Charlie. Jimmy is her husband who you have seen on CNN, and they have a daughter named Jasmine that is alive too. They will need help both with a funeral and rebuilding their lives.

Christina Delgado- Kennedy is a dear friend of ours who was always over at Charlies. She has a son named Chase, he is about 17 or 18. He lived just with his mother so they will need money for the funeral and rebuilding Chases life.

Vanessa Bryson is a dear friend of ours who lived two houses down from Charlie. She was in her late 20s and lived with her boyfriend Dan Powell (who suffered injuries). She was always hanging out at Charlies house too. Money for her funeral and rebuilding Dans life is needed too.

Tony Alvis is a dear friend to everyone in La Conchita. He was a really cool guy and is friends with everyone. His family needs help with the funeral.

We appriciate all the help you guys are giving. We are going to have several fundraisers and I will post them as I know them also

The world lost a truly beautiful soul this Monday when the earth came crashing down on the town of La Conchita. Charlie Womack was one of those rare people whose generosity was limitless and whose love and optimism was unstoppable. He was a father to four amazing kids, and to an extended tribe of many many more. With the destruction of the space that he created and opened up to so many, we are left with a void the size of which is somewhat unfathomable at present. The Womack residence, which now lies shattered under tons of mud and stone, was until recently the home of twelve. Five of those twelve are now gone, those who remain have lost almost everything.

In the Burning Man community we talk often and at length about bringing that amazing place we call Black Rock City home with us to live in a state of heightened openness, awareness and generosity. Charlie Womack did much more than just talk about it, he lived it.

Please help the friends and family of Charlie, and the people of La Conchita by donating to any or all of the relief funds that have been set up. Additionally, please come out and attend one of the many gatherings that are being planned by his many friends in the art and music community of Santa Barbara and Ventura.

I am mainly posting you all to tell you all thank you from all the families. They ask that I make sure everyone knows how thankful they are that you all care so much and are helping them more than they ever thought would happen. They tell me this with tears in their eyes most of the time. Charlie and everyone else left us such a big "family", I can say from personal experience.....that we will all get through this because we have eachother. Not only just for this landslide, but for everything that will happen in this lifetime good and bad. Make sure you pass this email around to everyone you dont see on my list please.
So now we need to party in their name, because thats what they want and that is what they would do if the tables were turned. This weekend is going to be so fun, plus they are all fundraisers too.

This Friday at Ventura Concert Theatre starting at 7PM Sound Tribe Sector 9, Mama Sutra, Delta Nove, and last but not least Charlie Llama Tribe Band. $20 pre-order on www.sts9.com and $25 at the door. www.illuminatrix.net/benefit.html

This Saturday 22nd at Sanbuenaventura State Park we are having the Memorial Service for everyone who died, but everyone from the Womack and Wallet family will be there. We are going to have food, paddle out on surfboards, and we will talk about the families, ect.

Saturday Febuary 5th we will be having another benefit at Velvet Jones in Santa Barbara.I will need to tell you the times later. There will be raffles and many bands playing including The Upbeat, Makai, Cornerstone, ect.
