Does anyone know where to get the $10 pre-sale tickets?

The link above doesn't have an option to purchase tickets.

You should call Wolfie and ask him. I seem to remember him posting his cell phone number in this tribe a while back. Totally, call him if you have any questions, about this or anything else. He's very knowledgeable and loves to help peolple. :-)

It sounds like this is usually a cornfield (or something like that)? Can you bring a tent and camp there?

No, unless you are involved in setting up the event. It was only a cornfield once, it's a state park normally, with all the usual buzz-kill rules.

Serious buzz kill rules, and even park rangers who walk around during the event being all park rangery. If you look at the LADecom site you'll see they are getting pretty stern. Catch the "Per the park" in these...

"WHAT'S NOT ALLOWED IN: Per the park, we will be checking bags at the gate. Please do not bring coolers, open containers, alcohol, markers, illegal substances, or weapons of any kind.

INS AND OUTS: Per the park, there will be no ins and outs after 6pm. We will have to remove your wristband after 6pm if you leave the event."

That "corn field" tag is either an historical one, or relates to the shape of the plot (depending on which story you believe). You'd have more luck pitching your tent on the sidewalk across the street. At least then you'd be in the LAPDs jurisdiction and the ACLU gets grouchy at them for bothering the homeless. Just leave your markers at home. (I love seeing that. I always think, "Markers? What am I, twelve?")

Maybe banning markers is meant to prevent tagging and graffiti (that's been a big problem in some of the parks).

Although...I don't remember there being any kind of fixtures or anything in that park to write on, so my theory could be totally off.

There are stone benches near the parking lot round-about. That's all I can think of. Maybe a sign, standard State Park issue, talking about the place. I know it's meant to prevent tagging, but this is not the kind of crowd that usually goes in for that stuff. That's why I think it's funny.
